Potholes, alligator cracking, and trip hazards don’t fix themselves. Jeff Hull’s crew restores driveways, parking lots, and farm lanes across Altoona, KS with hot-mix repairs that last — not cold patch band-aids.
24-hr style response for Altoona, KS & surrounding towns · Residential & commercial
Our Southeast Kansas freeze–thaw cycles and heavy trucks are brutal on weak asphalt. Once water sneaks through a crack, the base underneath starts to fail — and that ugly spot you see on top is just the symptom.
The result: potholes, "alligator" cracking, and trip hazards that can damage vehicles and create liability on your property.

Our cutaway diagram shows how a simple crack lets water travel down to the base layer. When that base fails, the surface caves in — that’s your pothole. Jeff’s repair method rebuilds the structure from the bottom up, not just the blacktop you see.
Every Altoona-area repair follows a proven, step-by-step process designed to tie new asphalt into old, lock out water, and stand up to traffic.
We saw-cut around the damaged area with clean, straight lines, then remove failed asphalt down to a solid base. The hole is cleaned of dust and debris so new material can bond tight.
Soft base rock is replaced and compacted if needed. Then we apply hot tack coat along the edges — this is the glue that ties the new patch into your existing asphalt so water can’t sneak between them.
We place hot-mix asphalt from the plant, level it, and compact it with a roller or plate tamper for tight density. The finished patch is either flush or slightly crowned so water sheds away, not into the repair.

No one-size-fits-all patches. Jeff walks the site with you, explains what’s failing, and recommends the right depth, mix, and layout for how you actually use the surface.
Every season you wait, water and traffic pound on that weak spot. The repair area grows, the base gets softer, and what could’ve been a simple cut-out patch turns into a major tear-out project.
Good news: a fast, properly built repair can stop the spread, shed water, and buy your pavement years of extra life.
If customers have to dodge cones in your parking lot, you’re already sending the wrong message. Jeff helps Altoona businesses get repairs done fast, clean, and clearly marked so you can stay open and safe.
Before: loose rock, broken edges, standing water.
After: tight, compacted patch tied into your existing surface with clean lines.
